Social Work News
We are pleased that two new social work faculty members will join Mansfield University in August 2010. Kevin Murphy will serve as Field Education Director, replacing Rhonda Keller, who retired in May 2010. Mr. Murphy brings over 13 years of experience in counseling and social service administration, and has taught in adjunct positions for six years. He holds an MSW from Marywood University and is a LCSW-R in New York state. Mr. Murphy will teach practice with families fall semester, in addition to his field education responsibilities. Mary Daly also holds an MSW from Marywood University and a EdD from Binghamton University. She brings her experiences as an adjunct instructor, a practicing social worker and a registered nurse with her. She is licensed as a LMSW in New York state. Most recently, she directed the Chronic Disease Case Management Program, sponsored by the Rural Health Network of South Central New York. Dr. Daly will teach orientation courses, social policy and child welfare fall semester.
PA-NASW will be holding an educational session at Mansfield University on September 24 and 25, 2010. The Social Work Program enjoys a strong relationship with the NASW chapter, evidenced by this being the second consecutive year in which an NASW-sponsored continuing education session has been held on campus.
